I visited my friend on Friday and her sweet little Miss Kitty was so curious and a general pain in the ass, as only kittens, and children, can be.

Life continues on.  I saw my podiatrist on Friday and if I haven't broken a sesmoid bone in my foot, she'll clear me to go back to work on March 1st.  I was complaining of some pain under the ball of my foot and she just wants to make sure that nothing is cracked; I'm going for an xray shortly.  I tried to go for an xray on Friday but the place I went to, their machine was down.  The doc also gave me some pads to disperse the pressure on those bones and that's helping.

Jack is Jack, happy, sad, funny, crying, angry, and oh so sweet at times.  We took him out to play places on Saturday and Sunday as it was too cold to be outside.  First rule of play place, nobody talks about playplace, and the second rule of playplace, get a seat early if you don't want your back to hurt.

We took Katie out and she shook hands with everyone she could, with those who were too far away, a wave had to suffice.  She also looked good in purple.  The scars on her forehead are from her banging head on the floor or walls when she's upset.  Katie still gets upset but far less than she used to thanks to valproic acid, a mood stabilizer for her.

And that's it.

  1. Great kitty photo! I haven't seen Katie before, being relatively new to your blog. She has a lovely smile and looks really good in purple. Funny memes.

    1. Katie is a sweetheart, sometimes, and sometimes she's a turd. She also has an amazing sense of humour. I'm going to have to get her more purple tops.

  2. A broken bone would be all you don't need right now, so I am keeping fingers crossed for you.
    Katie looks lovely!

    1. Me too. I had the xray yesterday, so I should hear today or tomorrow.

  3. Play places are great for toddlers--for adults, not so much. :) Katie does look great in purple, as many dark-haired people do. Love that kitty--it's the kind I would have wanted if I hadn't ended up with Mari.

  4. I do so yearn for a kitten but I know that it would be a pain in the ass and also, that Maurice would probably kill her/him. So best not to, I suppose.
Thanks for the advice on the Playplace. If I ever find myself with a need to go there, I will know.
I surely hope that your bones are all whole and uncracked.
    Katie's a hoot.

    1. Katie is such an extrovert. She just loves people, not at all like her mother:)

Kittens are so cute, they trick you with their sweetness and then you have a pain in the ass cat that likes to destroy blinds, shred curtains and scratch ankles. Maybe that's why they're so cute, so you forgive them.

  5. Hoping you will find the key to relief of your foot pain and be able to work relatively pain-free until retirement. Sweet and photogenic Miss Kitty looks like she has some Bengal DNA. Katie's eyes shine for you.

    1. Miss Kitty is so cute! I want to take her home.

My foot is feeling much, much, much better thankfully. I'm now working on walking longer periods of time to build up my tolerance.

  6. I feel so sorry that Katie bangs her head sometimes. It was nice that you were able to take her out. She seems pretty happy in that picture but of course it is still and silent as all photographs are.

    1. Katie is usually happy, thankfully. When she gets upset, she bangs her head, but she has much less anxiety now, thanks to her meds. Her head isn't even sore in the photo, I think she was telling me about pulling someone's hair.

  7. Poor Katie! I can only imagine how hard it must be to feel anger and frustration and have no way to vent it. I love the pic of Miss Kitty! Hope your foot continues to improve and you're able to get back to work.

    1. Even though Katie can't talk, she always lets you know exactly how she feels, one way or another.

  8. You have reminded me of the time years ago, when I was a " carer" at nursery for a 3 yr old boy who had Down's. One time when I delivered him back home, his Mum was talking to me at the door, and he walked in behind her to a closed door at the back of the hall and banged his forehead on it as hard as he could.......for attention, she said! (He would be in his 30s now)

    1. We do all sorts of things for attention, don't we.

  9. That is a great photo of Miss Kitty! My younger daughter hits her head against the wall when she hears a voice. She used to self harm but now she does this instead. They've changed her medication so we are hoping that helps her too.

  10. I hope it helps her as well, your daughter, that is.

I'm going to try and give Katie a haircut this weekend with clippers. Wish me luck:)

  11. That's a very cute cat-the kind I always wanted before I got stuck with younger daughter's black cat. But now I love her so it's all good! Katie looks happy in the photo although the head banging makes me sad. Jack sounds a lot like my older grandson. Never know quite what you're going to get. Smiles, tears, hugs, tantrums, etc.

  12. That is a very cute cat. I miss having a cat, but not the litter box.

  13. It is so nice to see Katie habitually happy. I don't comment much but I've been following for years, and I remember when it seemed that she was habitually angry and nothing helped. So glad she is now in a good place (literally and figuratively!)

  14. Purple is definitely Katie's colour. Wearing purple makes me happy. I wonder if Katie feels the same.
