I need to remember that this place exists always. This is one of my favorite places. Early in the morning it's quiet and a mist comes up off the lake. Sometimes there's a loon. It's peaceful and big and it will exist long after I have gone. I think that's why I like it so much. It puts me in my place.
I sometimes feel the same way about the fatigue of chemo. That while I lay there, the world just keeps spinning on without me. And yes....it does put me in my place, too.
ReplyDeleteI am always deeply comforted when placed alongside nature in its grandest sense -- my own life, however precious, also deeply insignificant. Your photos are stunning --
ReplyDeleteWhere is the photo taken?
ReplyDeleteI have always found my peace in the wilderness. I am never sure whether its the grandeur of nature itself or just getting far away from people. In either case, it is a sure-fire cure for almost everything that ails me.
Pyramid lake, just outside of Jasper Alberta.
