And just like that, the snow has mostly melted. It's warm today and supposed to be even warmer tomorrow, which means I have more time to work in the garden.
I raked and poop scooped the backyard, until the compost bin was full. Now I wait until my neighbor is home so that I can ask her if I can put some leaves in her bin as well. As I was standing on the deck, surveying my yard, two little nuthatches flew down to the suet feeder and chattered away to themselves as they fed.
I had a bad, awful day yesterday. I snapped at Jack and the dogs, then I cried, and I screamed (I was alone for that). I know it's not my country but people are going to die because of the election. Women will die, having miscarriages or back street abortions. Illegal immigrants will die. More people will die in Ukraine and Gaza. I'm not too sensitive, I just give a shit about humans and their suffering.
Today is a better day.
I cannot get past the fact that guy will have access to all the weaponry this weapon crazy country has. And that he once famously asked why we have them if we don't use them. From anyone else I would see that as a philosophical question and agree with it. From him, not good. He will blow up our economy which will affect the economy of the world. That we can likely count on. Sorry, Debbie Downer here.
ReplyDeleteThe rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer, until people have had enough I guess. We can always hope he has a stroke or heart attack. Just saying.
DeleteWomen (and immigrants) are already dying but our electorate (the majority) didn't seem to care. I will go crazy if I care any more than I already do. I'm extremely discouraged and frightened. I'm a naturally cheerful person but it will take me a while to get there. If ever.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fucking shitshow, a dumpster fire, a bouleversement, a debacle, and epic fail, and finally a goat rodeo. We might as well laugh, it's either that or cry, and scream.
DeleteI used to believe in that philosophy of Gandhi's. I am not so sure I do anymore. Yes, the evil and cruel do usually fall but so do those preach peace, love, and truth.
ReplyDeleteI think perhaps DJT has ruined my perception of human beings.
There is still good in the world, Ghandi and Hitler lived at the same time. There is bad and there is good. We can't let the bad win.
DeleteI'm thinking I might go outside and howl to the moon. There is so much rage inside of me right now.
ReplyDeleteI think howling is an excellent idea, don't know how my neighbors would feel about it though:)
DeleteA lot of people who don’t like Trump voted for him anyway. We need to understand why if we want to change things. Demonizing them will add to the polarization.
ReplyDeleteWise words, but it's hard to do when the other side just spews lies. I hope Canada doesn't end up the same way.
DeleteExactly.
DeleteI appreciate your concern for my country. I have been going through fits of anger and sadness over the last two days, and I am just plain exhausted.
ReplyDeleteI'm exhausted too. I hit a wall this afternoon and now I'm drinking a coke, trying to figure out what to do now.
DeleteOne of the nasty populists here in Europe referred to "women and other minorities" in an interview today. Thankfully, the interviewer set him straight and the nasty populist said, oops, sorry but this is the shape of things to come.If we let them. If.
ReplyDeleteOops sorry doesn't really cut it, but it does say volumes about what he truly thinks and believes.
DeleteYesterday was a tough day alright. At least for anyone who believes in democracy and human rights.
ReplyDeleteIt was a hard day.
DeleteIt was a hard day, but we will have to learn to be who we are no matter what. Hugs, Pixie.
ReplyDeleteI was in shock and I think for the first time I tuned out from media that evening and I played 80s music clips on tv.
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the news since the election.
DeleteI sincerely hope that Gandhi was right but maybe those spectacles were rose-coloured.
ReplyDeleteGhandi was a much better human than me, but I still hope.
DeleteScreaming is an understandable response!
ReplyDeleteI have decided that when the 💩 hits the fan, and when the MAGAts are surprised and complaining about the 💩, my response will be: "Don't complain ... You voted for this 💩!"
ReplyDeleteI'm surrounded by "them" in this building I live in! Just discovered another one yesterday ... She didn't like the ads Kamala ran on TV. Evidently she wasn't offended by the Orange Lump's disgusting ads!
I am thankful that at the very least, the ads have stopped.
Deletei cried, how could my country elect a convicted felon as president. there is something majorly wrong with america
