I'm miserable today.  It's hot and it's been hot for the past week and it's supposed to be hot for another week.  Today's high is 35C (95F).  The trees are having a hard time, too hot and not enough water, so they're sending up suckers everywhere and dropping their leaves. The house can't cool off because it's too hot at night.

The lawyer said we have to take Jack to visit his mom this weekend because of our court agreement.  The alternative is to go back to court and ask for supervised visits again which I'm sure would make Gracie's mom and sister so happy.  Jack is finally back to normal again, just in time to go back to his mother's.  I woke up with a headache this morning because I'm clenching my jaw while I sleep.  If Jack tells me of any other problems, we'll be going back to court.  Oh yay.

So I'm grumpy and hot.  I ate Smarties for breakfast and I'm watching Schitt's Creek, so that helps, but now my new TV keeps randomly doing weird shit.

Life sucks today but it will get better.

  1. I'm with Kermie. I used to say "life sucks and then you die". a Certain man in my house told me I had a bad attitude. I'm sorry about your mood, which is more than justified. Poor Jack is a pawn in the legal system game. Poor you, because you know this and must deal with it.

    1. I used to say, Life's a bitch and then you die, but I don't now either.

It's just everything today, the heat, the smoke and Jack.

  2. I'm so sorry about the situation with the Grandson having to endure unsupervised visits with the Mom. At least now he's old enuf to communicate accurately with you what is going on when nobody is present and that can be helpful if you must go back to Court and change the Visitation. We had to do that with The Young Prince at one juncture when he was 9... to Supervised only with his Dad until his Dad got Clean. Even with voluntary placements it can get complicated, people are just a complicated lot and predicting behaviors and choices of another person is next to impossible... situations can change over time for the good or the bad... hang in there my Friend, you got this GF and Jack is worth all the battles you will fight for him. When he's old enuf to fight his own battles he'll fully appreciate how hard you went for him in the Ring... when he couldn't... The G-Kid Force now they're all grown up respect all the fights I endured on their behalf. I understand completely how fatigued you are tho' and at times the lows get pretty low, so, try hard to take Care of you too my Friend. Spend some of the time Jack is having the ordered Visits to do the things that help bring yourself back to Center and renewed.

    1. Thanks Dawn. I know you understand and I appreciate your support. Part of my problem is I'm impatient. I want this settled.

    1. Shit brown in fact:)
It's a very good Canadian sitcom and it's lovely, funny, dirty and sweet.

    1. I was thinking about that this morning, how I'll be complaining about the cold come winter. Can't win:)

  5. Poor Jack AND you, dealing with your stress and his situation with Gracie. The heat and any other issues exacerbate the mood, even seemingly petty ones. I remember when I was dealing with my late husband's cancer, I felt like I deserved a pass from house or car problems, bad weather, work stress, etc. Sadly, life isn't like that. It's like a pile on at times. Sending hugs and love!

  6. I thought I commented already. Hmmm. That hot weather plus the worries about Jack would sap my energy and negatively affect my mood. Sometimes there are just too many things piling on when we only have the strength to deal with one or two problems. So sorry! Sending hugs and hopes for cooler weather and times.

    1. You did comment and then blogspot put it in the spam folder. WTF.

I decided to take a break this afternoon and read in the basement, that helped:)

  7. I feel for you, heat and headache, not a good combination. Does the sprinkler range reach humans? I recommend it.

    1. Perhaps I will run through the sprinkler this evening.

  8. I know from vast experience that hot weather can very much affect our attitude. It makes us cranky and quick to anger. It also saps our energy and depletes our emotional resources at the same time. Take that into consideration when you're berating yourself or finding yourself less able to handle things than usual. You just can't.
How I wish I could hug you.

    1. Thanks Mary. I would take that hug and give you one back. I'm not a hot weather person I've decided.

  9. Unless our Smarties are completely different to your Smarties, that's an interesting breakfast choice. Good luck with the parental visit.

    1. Chocolate can be a breakfast food, can't it? The French eat pain au chocolate:)

    2. Yes! I do it a lot! Chocolate croissants, chocolate chunk cookies, mocha chocolate cookies, chocolate donuts... A big glass of milk for virtue. Btw one of your memes says you can't reheat French fries. But you can! Put them in the waffle iron! They come out crisp and delicious.

  10. The heat is exhausting. When we lived in the RV, we spent hours in the bedroom because it was a smaller space, and had its own A/C, so it was cooler than the front room. It can drop back into the upper 80's any time here. Sorry you are so hot.

    1. Jack's aunt is going to check up on him each day. My dogs aren't enjoying the hot weather either, they're not moving much.

  12. Schitt's Creek is one of my all time favorite program. I think I've watched it three times and that's not like me. It has heart. Sorry about the heat. At least where I live (central Virginia) being that it is always so hot in the summer, everyone has central AC. If we didn't, it would be really hard to cope.

    1. I love David on Schitt's Creek, he's only about himself usually, but he's honest about it. "Yeah, I don't care."
