I don't know about the wisdom of targeting advertising of warm comfortable shoes at elderly women. Doesn't everyone want a wide toe box and a non-slip sole? They're missing out on a large chunk of consumers. If I lived where you do, I'd be ordering up a pair or three.
I can't imagine how cold that is. Instant frostbite of any body part exposed or even lightly covered? I would perish in an instant, being from a relatively temperate climate. We're suffering with our 18 degrees here!
There's a range of temps and times. The colder it gets, the quicker the frostbite, especially with the wind chill factored in. You dress for it but it's not nice. When it's that cold, everything is harder and cars start to act up. Our garage door won't open without a shoulder assist:)
Oh my god. I would not step out of the house. That is ridiculously cold. Your angel biscuits look "fit" as we say around here, meaning "fit to eat." And then some.
They didn't rise as much as they should have because I put them in an oven with a little heat, but it melted the butter in the layers. Lesson learned and they taste fine.
When you linked to "Refinery row" I thought I was going to read about a big argument concerning a refinery - maybe they had broken some environmental regulations or something. When British people refer to "cold weather" I think Albertans would be forgiven for laughing till they peed their pants! You really know what "cold" means.
Certainly the snow of the photographs gives imagination about the cold outside the houses. Is important then to wear good warm clothes. In Mallorca yesterday in the day we had 15 C degrees. For us this is cold. Naturally is not the same.
That is cold! Those rolls look delicious, I love a nice soft dinner roll. Stay inside and stay warm.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra. The rolls were tasty.
DeleteWait, what's that last thing? A fire?
ReplyDeleteFacebook routinely send me messages for "old" men. It's annoying.
It's not a fire, just one of the refineries we drive by on the way home, lots of water vapour.

ReplyDeleteI won't even look at the shoes, just because of the elderly crack in the advertising:)

The cars are impressive. Stay warm. Never mind meta.
ReplyDeleteMeta is a stupid name to begin with.

DeleteCan hardly wait for this polar vortex to be gone.
ReplyDeleteMe too. I just brought Katie to our house today, instead of having to deal with a wheelchair in this weather.
DeleteHow lovely to see Jack has a Mem Fox book. A little piece of Oz all the way over there.
ReplyDeleteJack is very Organized. It is very cold, even here in the Desert. The News had said ALL States were under Weather Advisories.
