The photography course is paying off, it gets me outside and taking photos again. Of course it helps that spring is here too. These little chickadees are so tame that they will eat right our of your hand.
All of us are continuing to drag our butts around, nobody really sick anymore, but nobody feeling great either. I think we had Covid again. I thought we were just sick but then Jack said everything tasted funny, and now he can't really taste anything. None of us had much in the the way of fevers, just low grade fevers, but we all were very congested and coughed up a lot of crud from our lungs. The worst was the fatigue. It's been a long two weeks but we're on the mend.
Nothing but bad news out of the US, Ukraine, and Gaza. Putin seems to enjoy moving trump around like a puppet. I suppose it would be funny if so many lives weren't at stake. Poor trump believes himself to be such a master negoitator, while Putin just runs circles around him. Both elon and trump are in way over their heads and really don't seem to understand the seriousness of the situation. Or maybe they just want more money and don't give a flying fuck about anything else. They seem to be looting the country, or at least making a divestment. When it's political, it's usually called a coup, but these morons only want the money it seems.
I try not to think about it, but of course it's everywhere.
Mostly I feel "meh".
Fantastic photo! Personally I don't think they care. It's about money and power. The orange one thinks he's in charge and everyone around him encourages that belief. We are a disaster. I do like the joke!
ReplyDeleteI love that joke. I told it to my husband and he actually laughed.
DeleteMost of the birds in my yard are chickadees and they are such adorable little sweeties.
ReplyDeleteThey are strong little birds, to survive here all winter. Amazing.
DeleteGood to know you're all on the mend at your house. I've had a cold for 7 days now, just starting to feel better. Lost my voice yesterday. Didn't realize that because I live alone! Only noticed it when I tried to leave a voice mail and had no voice to speak of.
ReplyDeleteYour creative energy has always inspired me. Love the chickadee and your pottery! Glad that you are using some of the time that used to go for work at the hospital for your creative work.
As for those fools who think their power is limitless, I remember what my mother used to say, "Give them enough rope and they will hang themselves." In the meantime, these are dark days.
The other thing my mother used to say was, "Wouldn't that just corn ya?" It was something that she would say while shaking her head in wonder and smiling wryly. She has a sense of gravity and a sense of levity. She never wrote those words down that I know and so I'm not even sure if that was what she was saying. That is how I heard it. Mysterious things my mother said!!!
I had to chuckle at the things your mom said. My mum would always say, A blind man on a galloping horse would be glad to see it.
DeleteI love how you can see each feather of the outstretched wing. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI bet y'all did/do have Covid. Sounds like it to me. It takes quite a while to really get over it entirely. Or it did me, at least.
I've reached the point where I don't give a damn why the administration is doing what they're doing. I just want the rule of law to prevail and stop them.
I'm still not feeling great. I took Jack, we had to go shopping this morning. I was short of breath and exhausted by the time we were done.
DeleteYes, power grabbing through punishment and vengeance. It's like we've stepped back to an earlier and cruel time. It does sound like Covid. That reminds me that I need to get a booster.
ReplyDeleteThis is my second go round with covid, at least it's not as bad as last time.
DeleteBy your symptoms, it does sound like Covid. I am glad you are on the mend though. The photo of the chickadee is amazing. I am guessing that you have a good camera and are not using your phone. I am so sick about what is happening with my country. I try and not dwell on it, but I can't help it because like you said, it is everywhere. He's an awful human being. I cannot even write his name.
ReplyDeleteI have a lovely digital camera that I hardly use anymore because it's heavy. With the photography course though, I'm learning the technical stuff my camera can do.
DeleteThat was my morning laugh done. I might just add, 'stuck up' to Paula. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteI love jokes that make you think.
DeleteHahahahahaha, the mailman joke! And what an ultra-fab photo of that chickadee!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debra. I stole it from someone.
DeleteThe chickadee, the "meh" graphic, and the joke are winners!
ReplyDeleteI've never had covid and I don't want it and it does sound like you all did get hit with it again! I hope you feel perkier soon!
Covid isn't much fun, I can attest to that, not as bad as last time though thankfully.
DeleteI'm so glad you're taking that photography course! We need some relief from the chaos and nastiness.
ReplyDeleteI'm tired of the meaness in the world right now.
DeleteBeautiful picture of the bird, lovely bokeh. I miss having a decent camera. The last one I bought I think wore out. It's terrible in low light, too. We're not planning any trips in the near future, so there's not much point. Love the mailman joke, that's funny.
ReplyDeleteYou could still take photos on your hikes, but a camera phone is so much lighter.
DeleteHa! That is a good joke. Your illness might have been Covid, but other viruses can interfere with taste too, so who knows. I'm glad it's on the wane, whatever it was. Cute chickadee!
ReplyDeleteI'm tuckered out and just feel exhausted, so I'm pretty sure it was covid.
DeleteHa!
