Jack is back home after five days with his other family. He's doing well and we enjoyed having a break from him. When he came back home last night, he ran to the front door and gave his poppa a big, long hug.
We spent the day at Millenium Place because they have an inflatable obstacle course, a bouncy house, and a bouncy slide. We also ran into two of his buddies from school which was lovely. The three of them entertained themselves for a couple of hours, and I got to visit with their grandma.
It's going to be a busy week with no daycare and lots of exercise needed, indoors, because outdoors is getting too cold again.
One of the dogs is eating Lego and the other is digging dirt out of one of my potted plants, or it could just be one, who knows.
Not much else going on. Vacuuming, laundry, cooking, and playing board games with a five year old. Could be much worse and I'm thankful it's not.
Lovely to see blue sky! It's not blue sky season here in the far northwestern corner of Washington State, but I don't mind the clouds and rain, especially because there is intermittent blue sky and because the evergreen trees need the rain.
ReplyDeleteI like the blue sky, but could do without the cold:)
DeleteIt's good to learn Jack returned without issues this time. The Millennium Park sounds like great fun for children.
ReplyDeleteThe kids love that place, especially in the winter. There is also badminton, hockey, and a few other things.
DeleteSounds like Jack had a good time but was glad to come home. I will be thinking of you entertaining an active 5 year old indoors. You have my sympathy.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on letting Jack entertain himself, with some success.
DeleteSounds like you're in for a nice few days if the dogs straighten up. I hope the one doesnt eat anything worse than a Lego. My ex told us he and his wife found their old dog so sick it just laid around and didnt eat for several days and they thought it was just at the end of its years till they came home one day to vomit all over the house and a pair of her panties was in it. The dog went right back to normal.
ReplyDeleteThankfully my dogs don't eat clothes, or diapers when there were diapers in the house. A friend of mine at work had a dog that ate socks and diapers, and then had explosive diarrhea in the house.
DeleteOMG -- this made me laugh!
DeleteMade me cringe, YIKES!!
DeleteI'm glad you had some time off and that Jack seems to be doing fine. You are an amazing woman!
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful Jack seems to be ok, although he keeps talking about calories.
DeleteWonderful to get a break and to get Jack back in fine fettle. I know that hasn't always been the case. I envy that blue sky. (not the cold though!)
ReplyDeleteIt was a pleasant surprise to have him come home without a lot of behaviors.
DeleteI'm glad that you both and Jack had a break from each other (and that it sounds to have been a good time for Jack). That hug must have meant the world to Grandpa. Happy new year to you all!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you as well. I think Jack had a good time but is glad to be back home too.
DeleteSounds par for the course. Glad that Jack's visit didn't seem to disturb him this time. I'm sure things are much better when his other grandma is there.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, honey. Wishing health and happiness to you and yours.
Wishing you the very same Ms. Moon.
DeleteI'm glad Jack's visit went well! I'd be concerned about whichever dog is eating Legos. That sounds pretty bad for their digestive system, not to mention potentially expensive (in both toy replacement costs and vet bills).
ReplyDeleteHeidi is usually the one who chews on stuff, and fortunately she shits it out.
DeleteHurrah for Jack returning in good spirits! Other than a 5 year-old and a couple of dogs, your days sound quite similar to my own
ReplyDeleteThanks for making me smile Sandra.
DeleteSounds like the dogs are bored. Good news on Jack, sounds like his visit went reasonably well this time. Happy New Year to you all.
ReplyDeleteThe dogs can stay bored. I'm not up to dragging them and a five year old out right now. Happy New Year!
DeleteLego and the dogs are probably worth it. Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to read that this time Jack came back in better shape!
ReplyDeleteI suppose a dog digging the soil out of the plant pot is a tad better than a cat shitting in it. Just saying.
I almost bought myself one of the Lego orchid bouquet sets but caught myself at the very last moment. Very close call.
