The weather remains cold but it is warming up, enough for Heidi to sit outside for awhile and survey her yard.
The coversyl is working and my BP has dropped down to normal levels. The only side effect I've had is fatigue which made falling asleep easy for a change. Winning! I'm still tired today so just taking it easy. It's too cold to walk the dogs, their feets get cold, so I have a good excuse for staying inside.
The school called after recess and Jack had a bloody nose. The principal called to tell me and said that Jack looked slightly more disheveled than usual. Disheveled is a good word to describe him and I had to laugh. Jack was fine, his nose had stopped bleeding, and I'll pick him up after school instead of him taking the bus.
I visited my girlfriend yesterday. She lives in the West End of Edmonton and it only takes about thirty minutes to drive there. To hear her talk, I live in Saskatchewan. We had lunch and talked for three hours. We talked about children, husbands, high school, memories, depression, money, and gardens. She's now my oldest friend and I'm so thankful we have each other.
I'm spending the day listening to the radio and painting trim and doors in the bathroom, slowly, the painting, not the listening:)
A funny and a wish for a good weekend for everyone.

I'm very glad you're doing well on the meds. At first my heart sank wondering if Jack had been in a fight, but no. Good!
ReplyDeleteI was worried Jack had been in a fight too:) He's fine and my blood pressure has come down.
DeleteI love the Kid Rock thing. It's entirely correct.
ReplyDeleteThat kid rock meme is sad, creepy, and funny.
DeleteI'm so glad you could get away for a bit and visit your friend. 😊❤️
ReplyDeleteWe had a wonderful visit. It was good for both of us.
DeleteDisheveled? Personally I wouldn't have a little boy any other way (nor a little girl either)!
ReplyDeleteJack always looks a little disheveled. It's how he rolls:)
DeleteOh my Lord. That meme just hits all the bases, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteBest friends are simply the best.
Glad your BP is down. I'm thinking the feelings of fatigue will lessen.
I'm still tired but my BP is down which is good. I'm hoping the fatigue wears off soon, but I am getting some good sleep:)
DeleteThat's great about the meds! I had such terrible adrenaline with my high b/p; I felt like I was being chased by a bear. The first med dropped my blood pressure, but the adrenaline was still high. The second one was the charm! Glad Jack was OK. My YD is prone to bloody noses. She's very nonchalant about them. Old friends know our back stories and understand who we've been and become. Sounds like an excellent conversation.
ReplyDeleteOld friends know our history and they know some of our stories. It's comfortable.
DeleteI'm glad your doc was able to lower your BP and your adrenaline.
It is wonderful to have an old friend to spend time with. I bet it was a good day. Disheveled. I think that's a prerequisite for childhood.
ReplyDeleteI'm beginning to feel disheveled as well:) And yes, old friends are the best.
DeleteHa, aren't we all disheveled these days?
ReplyDelete(You make me miss my oldest friend...we don't get together enough...sigh.)
I'm definitely feeling more disheveled as I age, or maybe I just don't care:)
DeleteMy oldest friends all live VERY far away, so its often a phone call of length - but when we are able to spend time together it is bliss.
ReplyDeleteA phone call is good but in person is so much better. We drove out to Vancouver last summer and I did the math and we talked for something like 32 hours (we talked in the B&B at night too), and we never ran out of things to talk about.
DeleteOld friends who manage to weather our changing life stages are to be held close. They are one of life’s greatest gifts. Glad Jack is ok!
ReplyDeleteJack is good. I just got him off to school. This old friend feels like a sister to me.
DeleteWest of Edmonton ...
ReplyDeleteIt sounds the place I'd want to go to on a snowy day.
But I bet the cold would kill me. Scotland's windchill factor's a walk in the park
compared to Canada's. It's the idea of distance that teases the imagination.
In Canada, we're used to long distances. The mountains are a four hour drive away (400 km). I'm guessing the windchill in Scotland is not just cold, but damp as well. It's the damp that gets me and chills me to the bone.
DeleteOld friends are wonderful presences in our lives. I'm glad Jack is merely "disheveled" after his bloody nose experience! I don't think I've ever had a bloody nose, at least not that I can remember. I stayed out of fights and rough games!
ReplyDeleteNow that I think of it, I had a few nosebleeds as a kid. It's so dry here in the winter and kids like to pick their noses:)
