 Kamloops Lake.

We made it to Cache Creek without seeing any fires.  In fact it's been raining since we left home, which is good.

The big guy tripped on some stairs this morning in the dark and has hurt his knee which is painful but nothing broken.

I'm enjoying our time away and I'm consciously working on not complaining.   I think before I speak.  I feel better too.  Yay for me.

  1. That is just beautiful. Sometimes we don't need a LOT of time away, we just need SOME time away don't we, with no responsibilities and peace and quiet! I hope the big guy's knee is ok and he gets to enjoy his break too!

  2. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
I can't tell you how many times my husband has injured himself on a trip to Mexico. Sometimes I wonder if he subconsciously hobbled himself in order to get the rest he so desperately needed.

  3. Gorgeous. I hope you have a lovely time!

(Your big guy and I are in synch - I tripped going into a restaurant and bashed my knee good. And felt like an idiot. In my defense though, the dock and the restaurant were both floating and as I stepped in, one went up just as the other went down.)

  4. Glad you’re getting some down time. Do make sure your man takes care of that injured leg. These things can become chronic if not respected. Trust me, I know.

  6. Extraordinary beauty. Grateful to be seeing it through your eyes. There's nothing like a good road trip. Good medicine for a sore knee and everything else. That's for sure.

  7. You do take fabulous photos, my girl.
Such a relief that there's been some rain out there.
You were at Cache Creek; I got off the train there one night and then was driven through Lillooet and around curving mountain roads to Gold Bridge, or was it Bralorne. At any rate, waking up in daylight to what appeared to be a completely different planet (we'd got on the train in Regina) was stunningly shocking.

  8. Did you go into Hungry Herbie's Drive-In at Cache Creek? Silly Big Guy - tripping on the stairs! Good job his missus is a nurse!

    1. How the hell did you know about Hungry Herbie's? It was the only place open. The restaurants there can't get staff.
